What are differences between Textlocal and Webex SMS?
As of October 2025, we are migrating to Webex for sending SMS messages due to the deprecation of Textlocal platform (see migration instructions here).
Although the experience in sending messages from CleanerPlanner is almost identical between the two, below are major differences between the two platforms (see also Webex's detailed comparison):
Improvements
Showing invalid mobile numbers: When you send to a group of contacts, Textlocal would sometimes silently fail invalid numbers — whereas Webex will correctly report exactly which ones succeeded or failed. You will see an error message for only the mobile numbers that failed

- Modern UI: Webex has an upgraded UI for managing your messages, compared to Textlocal's legacy system. You can learn more about their system on their website.
Gaps
- Landlines: Webex does not support messaging to landline phone numbers (Textlocal technically did not either, even if they did attempt to call the landlines)
- Cancelling scheduled messages: If you schedule messages via Webex API (which is what CleanerPlanner uses), there is currently no way to cancel these messages.
- Webex team has informed us they are working on this as part of the roadmap. For now, please be careful with any scheduled messages that you do intend to send them at the scheduled time.
- Sender names: You use a "Sender Name" to identify your phone number for customers to reply to. On Textlocal, there was a "default" Sender Name; but on Webex, there is no default — instead, CleanerPlanner will use the most recently created, verified Sender Name.
